Singapore Space Symposium
In October 2018, EPIC will be present at the Singapore Space Symposium, where some European Union success stories will be showcased and discussed. The Symposium will be a great opportunity to share ideas and start potential collaborations.
The Research Bazaar is a free, 3-day intensive festival and conference where researchers come together to up-skill in next generation digital research tools and scholarship. In the spirit of a marketplace or bazaar, ResBaz is a highly participatory event where researchers from many different disciplines can learn, share knowledge and skills, and have fun. ResBaz Sydney will be hosted by Macquarie University, 3-5 July, 2018.
EPIC will be represented by the project coordinator Erich Prem who will join the event through a skype session.

H2020 Info Days Australia
Horizon 2020 information events will be held in three Australian cities this March to provide an overview of the European Framework Programme and give information on how Australian organisations can participate. The event in Perth will also include a specific presentation of the EPIC project and discuss on ICT related R&I cooperation opportunities in Horizon 2020.

Breakfast Workshop - Digital Data Economy
Data is the currency of today's digital economy and data protection is at the heart of the move to a digital single market. The European Data Protection Reform aims to build a strong basis to help Europe make better use of innovative digital services like big data and cloud computing.
Kiwi companies at the forefront of innovative digital product development will be impacted by new regulations as they grow their global offer.
On January 25th (7.30-9.00 am) at Callaghan Innovation, Erich Prem, EPIC's coordinator will talk you through the European Digital Single Market, new Data Protection rules and explore the opportunities and impacts for New Zealand businesses arising from Europe’s changing regulatory environment.
If you are exporting digital products or services to Europe, then this is a must attend event.
From the end of geo-blocking to the right to explanation on algorithmic decision-making, new copyright framework and VAT rules, Dr Prem will share policies that change the playing field for companies around the world, including EU companies’ international partners and businesses exporting digital products and services to the region.

EPIC Research Cooperation Workshop Melbourne
On December 14th 2017 at RMIT in Melbourne, this one-day seminar provides researchers interested in collaborative projects with hands-on training on how to prepare winning projects and writing successful grant proposals for competitive call schemes. The seminar will cover finding the right call topic, creating successful partnerships, developing winning arguments and addressing the often-puzzling policy requirements of public programme calls.
The trainer, EPIC coordinator Erich Prem, is a research strategist and RTDI manager with decade-long experience in grant preparation and management. He is a frequent evaluator for national and international research programmes; an advisor to research policy makers and an evaluator and reviewer for the European Commission’s international research activities.

C-Prize - New Zealand
C-Prize is an incentivised technology competition to push the boundaries of what’s possible through technology. Run by Callaghan Innovation every two years, competition entrants are challenged to come up with technology solutions that deliver solutions to real industry problems.
EPIC partner Callaghan Innovation as organisers of the challenge, will host a number of wearable technology workshops in the major centres of New Zealand. These workshops are intended to be a combination of presentations by wearable technology expert speakers (from academia / industry) as well as an opportunity for workshop attendees to discuss and get feedback on ideas they are considering submitting to the challenge competition. These workshops will run on June 12th, 13th and 14th in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland respectively. EPIC is bringing experts from Europe to New Zealand in order to provide opportunities to establish new collaborations.
Information & Communication Technologies - Singapore
EPIC will be present at the business mission on the information & communication technologies sector organized by EU Gateway | Business Avenues from May 22nd to 27th.
The three Business Exhibition Days will take place at the Mission hotel in Singapore. Participants will be able to showcase products and technologies to a targeted audience of potential business partners.
