EPIC AI Events New Zealand

EPIC visited Wellington in December 2018 to discuss AI at two special events:

  1. EPIC Round Table: Europe's AI Strategy and the cooperation potential for New Zealand (morning)
  2. EPIC Industry Panel at the 31st Australasian Joint Conference on AI (afternoon)

1. The Round Table took place on the morning of 13 December and was a free event organised by EPIC and AI Forum New Zealand. The aim of the Round Table was to discuss new strategies and upcoming initiatives in the field of AI technologies. It brought together researchers, industry and policy makers from Europe and New Zealand to discuss current trends and possible new avenues for research and innovative applications.

2.The Industry Panel took place as part of the 31st Australasian Joint Conference on AI. Top AI academics and industry leaders presented what AI really is, what it can and can't do, the economic and social impact, how AI affects businesses, how AI changes industries and how it can be used to achieve better results in industry and administration. The panel discussed case studies from New Zealand and the EU and was organised in collaboration with the Australasian AI Conference and AI New Zealand.
